About the event

Judy Gladney graduated from University City High School 50 years ago, 1969. On the weekend of her high school class  reunion, she will reflect on what it was like to be in the first phalanx of African-Americans to attend U. City schools. Judy found herself bridging two worlds. She had few white friends, but she also had difficulty relating to the few African-Americans in her class as well. As the daughter of a physician, she came from a different socio-economic strata. At this event, Judy will share her experiences joined by the journalists who worked with her to tell her story for BeforeFergusonBeyondFerguson, an initiative dedicated to advancing the cause of racial equity with support from the Pulitzer Center. The event is free and open to all.
